About Dr. Linda Klaitz
Dr. Linda Klaitz is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. She
received her doctorate and master's degree in developmental psychology from Columbia University and
a master's degree in psychology from University of California. Her career began as a college
professor of developmental psychology. Dr. Linda completed a post doctorate internship at a
Georgia state psychiatric hospital. She then served nearly four years as clinical director and
chief psychologist at the Devereux Center, a psychiatric hospital for adolescents. She earned a one-year
post doctorate certification in cognitive behavioral psychology and has completed a
three year post
doctorate in psychopharmacology and neurobiology. She specializes in Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder and has benefited from years of postdoctoral training in this area as well as in adolescent
and family therapy.
Over the past ten years Dr. Linda's training has particularly focused on the biological
underpinnings of emotional behavior. She has spoken on numerous television and radio talk shows
including "Nightline" with Ted Koppel. She is interested in coalescing the research in psychiatry,
brain imaging, neurobiology, anthropology, and genetics to facilitate the understanding of human
behavior. Her therapeutic style is didactic, health focused and proactive.
Dr. Linda is a member of All Saints Catholic
Church where she is a cantor. She is also a singer who frequently performs
in weddings, funerals and celebrations.
